My hometown is Mumbai which is the economical capital of India. Human abode of Mumbai was since the stone age. A Marathi community were the earliest known homesteaders of Mumbai. Mumbai, previously known as Bombay was renamed in 1995.
Now let me share a few of my favorites about my hometown. I'm crazy about the street food. The yumcious flavours make my mouth water. To name a few Pav bhaji, Vada pav, masala dosa, frankie, chicken lollypop, Bengali sweets, traditional Gujarati food, kulfi and candy floss. Because of the amount of people there socialize. I had around dozens of friends. Mumbai is also known as the city of seven islands because in early days it was seven different islands. The population of Mumbai is 20.8 million which is approximately four times the population of entire New Zealand. It is a multilingual city with 22 different languages spoken. Diversity is visible in every aspect there including delicious food items, heart winning tourist attractions, fun-filling activities for each age group, hubs for shoppers and joyous festival celebrations.Spending time with my grandparents was one of my favorites.
My grandfather narrated stories that made me increase my reading abilities and my grandmother is an awesome chef. Words are insufficient in describing how much I miss my hometown.

Talofa Harshit,
ReplyDeleteWow, so your hometown is Mumbai? How long has it been since you've been back home?
I really like that you have shared some memories about growing up in Mumbai with your family (My Grandma was a wonderful chef too!).
Perhaps next time you could share a place special to Mumbai, that tourists could visit! Can you recommend a place for me?
I was born and raised in the big bustling city of Auckland. One of my favourite things to do in my hometown is drive out to Mission Bay Beach and admire the beautiful fountain that has been there for many years.
I hope your holidays are going well, keep up the good work!

Good morning Cia,
DeleteSorry for the delayed reply, I was out of Auckland for a vacation.
Yes I am a Mumbaikar, that is how we refer to people from Mumbai. I came to Auckland in April 2017.
Mumbai has many favourite tourist attractions. It has the largest film industry Bollywood. Hence, most actors stay there. My favourite place to visit is the Gateway of India which was built by Britishers. It is on the sea shore. You can take small trips over boats around the shore or visit nearby small islands. You can also enjoy good street food, some water sports and it is a perfect picturesque location.
I am enjoying my holidays to the fullest.
Thank you so much for all the appreciation. I feel very motivated to write more blogs.
Kind Regards
Harshit
Talofa Harshit,
DeleteThanks for your recommendation and giving a little background information about the places I could visit and activities I could do there.
