Rippa Rugby

Hello Rippa Rugby players,

It's been 5 weeks of our classes rippa rugby training. I have learned a lot from the lessons and that is what i'm going to blog about. One of them is how to use the defending technique. It's easy you just have to shake your hips. If you  try to defend the tag by holding on to it, that's a foul. The name of holding the tag is called foul play.

The second thing what I learned is called scrums. That means forward pass and knock on. Forward pass means when you pass the ball forward and in rugby and rippa rugby there is only backward pass. Knock on means when you pass the ball and the ball falls down after touching your fingers. If the ball did not touch you and fell down it's not a knock on you just continue the game.

My friend Ashwin was the best player in our team. Now my third thing is catching and passing the ball. For catching the ball we have to make a w shape with our hands. Now to throw the ball we have to put the ball near your hip and spin and pass the ball.

Now the last thing what I learned is called a line out in that we have five players from each team line up with a little bit of gap in between. The person who went out of the line their opposite team gets to throw the ball from the line. Now I am going to show you a photo of me playing rippa rugby.

I'm at the back of the photo with my arms folded.

Our secret mission

Hello secret bloggers,

Last week on Monday Mrs Eagleson and Mrs Shresta had planned a mission for room 6 and 8 it was a secret mission. We had to find the purple monkey and save her live from the forever night. We had to solve clues to find her. I made a DLO about it. I enjoyed everything a lot and would love to do it again.

Lifecycle of a butterfly

Hello bloggers,
A butterfly has 5 stages until it gets an adult butterfly now let me introduce you to the 5 stages. The first stage is the eggs. When a female butterfly lays its baby eggs it's always at the back of a leaf or under a plant. Then it continues into a caterpillar the caterpillar is now really hungry so it starts eating then one day the caterpillar stops eating and goes to a twig or a leaf and starts spinning to make a cocoon. The cocoon is now started to turn into a chrysalis the chrysalis hangs upside down and is silky. The chrysalis starts to break and out comes a beautiful full grown butterfly which is able to fly now. Down below is a diagram of the lifecycle of a butterfly.

Te Reo Maori

Hello bloggers,
Today I am going to share my experience in learning something new at school.

At Hay Park school we have different sessions and one of them what I like is Te Reo Maori. I know languages like English, Hindi and Gujarati. Learning Te Reo Maori, gives me an opportunity to talk to my friends in school in their native language. I feel more close to them and they feel happy and sometimes burst into laughter when I pronounce words incorrect. It is hilarious for me too.

Last week I learned some fruits names in Maori and below is a list of their English translation. I am able to also read the signage on the roads written in Maori and understand their meaning.

Trip to Waikowhai Intermediate

Hello bloggers,

I am writing this blog post for my trip to waikowhai Intermediate. It was fun being in waikowhai Intermediate but still I want to go to Mt roskill Intermediate because my mum says that Mt roskill Intermediate is better than Waikowhai Intermediate anyways, I did some writing about Waikowhai Intermediate check it out.

Last month year 6s from Hay Park school had a visit to the waikowhai Intermediate school for their
graduation.

When we went inside the hall their principal were waiting for us. Then their principal told us about him,
his school and the school counselor's responsibility. After he was finished he took us for a round of the
school with his school counselor’s.

When we finished it was morning tea time so me and my friends played outside, then the bell rang,
and we had to get back in the hall. Afterwards the principal put us in groups of 4. The groups were called
visual art, food tech, hard tech and performing arts.

Would you want to go there?

Thank you for reading my writing.
